Clearing the Air: OSHA Respirable Crystalline Silica Dust Rule Overview

OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1153 went into effect on June 2016 and required compliance on September 23,2017 for construction.  This change brings new standards for respirable crystalline silica dust with which industry professionals are required to comply.  This presentation will help educate the participant on the new standards as well as provide an overview of the work Hilti has completed to better understand the new codes and how they change our industry.

Many in design think the silica dust regulations do not pertain to them since it is a matter of means and methods.   However, a basic knowledge of the silica standard requirements is beneficial to make sure that a contractor’s chosen compliance method for dust control does not conflict with other code requirements for specified applications such as with post installed anchors.
