Ultra High Performance Concrete
There is a lot of buzz in the concrete and design industries about Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC). UHPC is typically defined as fiber-reinforced concrete that has a sustained specified compressive strength of 22,000 psi (150 MPa) or greater with toughness, ductility and durability performance and uniformity requirements that cannot be achieved routinely with conventional constituents. UHPC is has been successfully applied to both structural and architectural applications. UHPC’s ductility counteracts concrete’s brittle nature and holds the promise of new ultra-thin, ultra-durable applications. Come discover how UHPC may be changing the way we use and design with concrete. This is not your grandad’s concrete; it is “bendable” and is changing how concrete structures and elements will be designed in the future.
